Hello! My name is Morgan Nebel. I am a recent graduate from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where I received my B.A in Historic Preservation. During my time at UMW, I discovered my passion for the built environment which led me to focus my studies on Urban Planning and Geographic Information Systems. With my educational background and interest, I hope to peruse a career in Real Estate, Affordable Housing, or Urban Planning.
I am grateful for the Department of Historic Preservation at UMW as I was able to take courses in archaeology, architectural history, building conservation, museum studies, and urban planning. UMW’s muti-disciplinary approach allowed me to understand the field of historic preservation as a whole. To further my education, I took many GIS courses that gave me the hard skills that apply to every discipline in the Historic Preservation department.
After I graduated in December, I decided to move to Columbus, Ohio. Having grown up in Fredericksburg, I was ready to explore a new region. So far, I have loved the area and hope to learn more about the history of Ohio and Columbus.
In my free time, I enjoy hiking, camping, and going to see all different types of live music. These hobbies allow me to travel around the country to explore new cities, which enables me to see various styles of architecture and unique museums.
